PEAK PERSPECTIVES: LOCAL MUSIC

Posted

Normally I try to tackle something that is weighing on my mind, or needs attention in our greater community. This week, I’m gonna change it up and share something I am very passionate about - local music.

Most of you know that my husband and I own Brightwood Music in Nederland. Music is around us, all the time (thankfully). And if you follow any of my social media, you may see random pop up videos of live or recorded music. But I feel like I always post these things in the moment and I, personally, don’t share enough about what I am up to ahead of time. How can you plan if you don’t read the paper and find out where to be and what to see?

This weekend, I am super excited to see music in the first of a series of concerts in Nederland. Not to mention a whole lot of other music in the Peak to Peak region. If you are a music lover, make sure to check out the weekly Music of the Mountains page every week, featuring upcoming events.

On Saturday, June 1, 2024, Time Served Productions will present their first concert series of the summer. The concert runs from 4 to 7 p.m. at Chipeta Park. The series is sponsored by the Nederland Downtown Development Authority.

Saturday will feature Rolling Harvest & Bonnie and Taylor Sims Band. From the Concert Series website, here is information about the artists.

Rolling Harvest

Honoring the legendary songs of Bob Dylan and Neil Young, veterans of Colorado bands such as Gasoline Lollipops, the Velveteers, the Yawpers, Banshee Tree and more have come together like a Rolling Harvest.

Bonnie & Taylor Sims Band

RIAA Certified Gold recording artists Bonnie & Taylor Sims are one of Colorado’s most powerful and dynamic musical duos. From the soul-shaking harmonies and masterful songwriting to the endearing onstage moments, Bonnie & Taylor have captivated audiences all across the world. With their most recent global success “I See Red” tallying over 300 million streams and a deal with Columbia Records to playing countless live shows and festivals around Colorado and the Western US; tours to Germany, Canada and Sweden; multiple studio albums; exciting collaborations with other area musicians and fulltime touring schedules with Big Richard and Madeline Hawthorne Band respectively, Bonnie & Taylor have established themselves as a potent creative force of the vibrant Colorado music scene.

Wherever you go this weekend, sit down, relax, enjoy some live music, take a deep breath. Take another. One more. Enjoy.
