First, I want to say a huge thank you to the five candidates that are running for Gilpin County Commissioner. Each candidate showed up for our Candidate Forum, answered the questions thoughtfully and shared a bit about what they'd bring to the county, if elected.
Most of you know, I don't "politic" much. But I do think it's exceptionally important to share all of the available information about all of the candidates. And it's important to do this in a way that is accessible to all to participate. This time, for the first time, I ran a YouTube through my computer to make sure everyone could watch (either during the forum or after). I felt really good after the forum, like we had asked a lot of the questions that were important to people. There were a few more on the list that we ran out of time for, but ultimately we asked the questions that were asked by more than one person in the submissions we received.
My hope is that between the forum and the previous candidate questions, there is enough information out there to make an informed decision about the candidates. And that everyone takes the time to vote in this very important election.

Beyond the candidates forum, last week was an exceptionally busy week for us at The Mountain-Ear. We are training on our new software and website. We are super excited to launch this new site in the next week. The website will be a lot different than what you're used to.
