Wild Woman Tea Party: Join Vagabond Hikers Club in creating space for your inner wild woman with a walk through the changing Aspens. Sound bowl and reiki exercises as well as a journal entry to close the meeting. 8 to 11 a.m. in Ward. For more information, email vagabondhikersclub@gmail.com or call 720-412-8826.

Build it! with LEGO: Drop in to create and play! Kids can let their imaginations run free while they construct their own creations using LEGO bricks. Duplo and K’nex kits are also included. Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult. All materials are provided. LEGO bricks and creations will remain in the library after each program. 1 to 4 p.m. at the Gilpin County Public Library.

Family Movie Matinee: Bring the kids for free popcorn and a movie as we watch a family-friendly film in the meeting room. The feature for this week is “Inside Out 2.” 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. at the Gilpin Public Library. 

Art Reception and Outdoor Concert: Enjoy the art of Serene Karplus and the music of the Boulder Philharmonic at the Nederland Community Library! There will be wine and cheese offered in exchange for donations. 5 to 7 p.m.

Fourth Friday: Art, music, specials, artist demonstrations, snacks, treats for the kids, special vendors, carousel rides and more! In the Caribou Village Shopping Center located at 20 Lakeview Drive in Nederland from 5 to 8 p.m.

Annual Democrats Picnic: All are welcome to this family-friendly event. There will be a grill going and you are invited to bring a dish to share if you’d like, but totally optional! 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Very Nice Brewery – Gilpin Taproom, located at 180 Jankowski Drive. 

Nederland Farmers Market: Enjoy a multitude of different arts, foods, and crafts vendors along with live music right in the middle of town. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 80 East Second Street.

Nederland Writers: Bring something you are working on to share and get feedback on or join the group to listen in and hone your skills. Area writers gather at Nederland Community Library every Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. For more information, visit https://nederland.libcal.com.

The Mountain Meditation Circle: A free and open group that has been meeting every Monday evening at 6 p.m. for the last four years at Gilpin County Public Library. New participants are always welcome. New members will need to provide their contact information prior to attending their first meeting. Quirky Quilters: Bring your current project and join fellow quilters for a quirky time! Meet in the Nederland Public Library Community Room from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. 

Wild Bear Story Time: We will read books, sing songs, play, and move together, all while fostering early ecological literacy. Join us for fun, friends and community! 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at 20 Lakeview Drive in Nederland. 

STEAM Club: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math activities hosted for kids grades 1-4 at the Nederland Community Library. Club meets every Tuesday through the end of October. There will be a shuttle running directly from Nederland Elementary to the Library after school and the meeting ends at 5 p.m. Register at https://nederland.libcal.com

Children’s Storytime: Join us every Wednesday morning for our Children's Storytime. Most of our children range from 0-5 years of age but all children are welcome. Enjoy stories, fingerplays, rhymes, and more. A themed craft will follow every storytime. The previous week's crafts are available while supplies last. Start at 10 a.m. at the Gilpin County Public Library located at 15131 Highway 119. 

Thursday, October 3

Art at the Center Fall Reception: Celebrate the beauty of fall with art, music and refreshments. Enjoy stunning local pieces, and meet the artists behind them. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite artwork! 5 to 7 p.m. at the Nederland Community Center located at 200 Highway 72.

Friday, October 4

CCCIA Open Mic: On the first Friday of every month from 7-9 p.m., the Coal Creek Canyon Improvement Association puts on an Open Mic event to showcase the talent of the canyon. Saturday, October 5

Fall-O-Ween: Gilpin Grateful Acres invites you to enjoy fun activities including a scavenger hunt, caramel apple and cookie decorating, pizza skulls, a haunted trail through the woods, and more! This is an all-ages event hosted from 4 to 8 p.m. at 32 Elk Meadow Lane in Black Hawk. 

Gilpin County Farmers Market: Enjoy local vendors and live music! From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gilpin County Community Center located at 250 Norton Drive in Black Hawk. 

Calvary Chapel Harvest Festival: Join is for harvest games, prizes, and candy, as well as Navajo tacos and jewelry! Fun for the whole family. 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 275 Highway 72 in Nederland. 

Sunday, October 6 

Harvest Fest: Come out for the last Nederland Farmers Market of the year! Enjoy more than 60 different vendors including art, beer and spirits, foods, and crafts. There will also be live music from Atomga and Melt & the Family Band. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 80 East Second Street.
