Posted

Megan Hiler, Public Information Officer.

Today, Thursday, March 14, 2024, Clear Creek County is declaring a Local Disaster Emergency due to heavy amounts of snow and stranded motorists.

This declaration enables the County to activate certain response plans and makes the County eligible for funds and resources from the State that may become available to support the response to the current snowstorm situation.

Additionally, Clear Creek County has determined that it is in the best interest of public safety to encourage residents and motorists not to travel.

“This snowstorm has stretched the County’s resources,” Clear Creek County Office of Emergency Management Director Suzanne Boccia said. “At this time, we are asking the public to stay home and off the roads. This is a serious situation and we want our first responders to be able to get to those that need help. The safety of the public is our top priority.”

Clear Creek County thanks its first responders that have worked around the clock to help those in need over the past 24 hours. The County will provide updates as conditions change.
