Casino gaming truck visits Black Hawk

Once a year, International Game Technology (IGT), the world’s largest gaming manufacturer, rolls into Black Hawk to dazzle casino managers with a showcase of their cutting-edge slot machines and casino games.

On May 7, despite the chilly weather, the massive IGT trailer— splashed with bright cartoons that hint at the games inside—was parked at the Z Casino parking lot, ready to welcome visitors.

IGT, known for delivering entertaining and responsible gaming experiences, caters to a wide range of players across all regulated segments, including lotteries, gaming machines, sports betting, and digital platforms.

With a presence in more than 100 countries and a workforce of approximately 12,000, the company is a global powerhouse in the gaming industry. And this annual stop in Black Hawk gives local casino managers a front-row seat as they experience the latest in gaming innovation.

The luxury trailer was a sight to behold, fitted with large-screen televisions, plush carpets, and an array of brightly-lit slot machines. Some slots dazzled with high-definition video displays, while others retained the classic charm of old-style reel machines.

For the casino managers and slot directors in attendance, the event was a golden opportunity to explore new gaming trends and get hands-on with the machines.

Ryan, a representative from Bally’s Casino, expressed his admiration for the games, noting that the variety and quality impressed him.

Senior Sales Executive Gary Baker, overseeing the showcase, welcomed attendees with his laid-back demeanor, remarking that while he hoped to see some orders placed, he wasn’t one for high-pressure sales tactics. “We’re here to showcase the games and give managers a chance to experience them firsthand,” Baker said.

Having been with IGT for 24 years, Baker mentioned that while the Wheel of Fortune game is currently the most popular, video poker remains an all-time favorite.

To sweeten the opportunity, the trailer offered an array of amenities, from refreshments and wireless phone chargers to candy and stylish tote bags.

As the gaming truck travels the continental U.S., stopping at gaming jurisdictions in states like Oklahoma and New Mexico, the company’s sales representatives ensure a seamless experience.

In Black Hawk, the reception was warm, even as a late-season snowstorm swirled outside. This prompted Baker to joke that next year’s visit might be moved to June to escape the snowflakes.

IGT’s annual visit is not just about showcasing their latest games. It’s also about fostering relationships with the local gaming community and providing hands-on support through its traveling team of sales representatives and technicians.

With a reputation as a leader in gaming entertainment, IGT continues to expand its influence in the gaming world of Black Hawk.
