Bring commonsense, vote Marshall

Posted

Dear Editor,

I have known Corey Marshall for almost thirty years. I used to be his neighbor and my older daughters used to babysit his lovely children. Corey was the best neighbor that anyone could ask for, as he is personable, friendly, and always showed my family kindness and acceptance.

As a law enforcement family, my husband and I always felt supported by the Marshall family and we have always seen Corey, who is a long-term local and possesses leadership qualities as an upstanding citizen in our community. Corey is not one who dwells in problems, but rather, he is a solution seeker as he considers hearing all points of views.

You've seen letters and Facebook posts trying to pigeon hole Corey as some big conservative just following the national rhetoric. That's not Corey! Corey is a local citizen with a mission and a vision to return our county to what it should be. National politics play no role in his agenda, just concern for the wellbeing of Gilpin County.

The current majority in our county leadership is and has been so poor. Instead of being the close knit community we used to have that was free of government overreach. Except for one Commissioner, we now have bureaucrats who are never close to their constituents, in fact avoid them and pushing an agenda that is everything Gilpin never wanted to be (Boulder).

As an independent voter and critical thinker, I have observed Democrats trying to stereotype Corey as just following the MAGA agenda. MAGA is a huge negative for a lot of Independent voters, who will make or break this election. After the past almost four years of paying more than double and getting less for our hard earned money just for groceries, I personally cannot continue to afford another four more years under the current policies just as most others regardless of what side of the fence people are on. I will be voting with my community's current struggles in mind in hopes of a brighter future for all.

We need the return of commonsense policies from a local level and federal level. We need leaders who are not thinking about themselves, but also consider the financial struggles and so much more of those known and unknown to them.

Elections have consequences. Fairly research all candidates, and use critical thinking when casting your votes in consideration for our community and beyond. And when you do, I believe you will reach the same conclusion I have, Corey Marshall is the long-term local, business minded leader, who will bring commonsense back to our county. Reach out to Corey Marshall with any questions or concerns you might have. He is a great listener, who cares and has solutions.

Thank you kindly and sincerely,

Becky Anderle
